The ARTAS Robotic Procedure combines state-of-the-art technology with a natural appearance that pleases our patients. Developed with leading hair transplant physicians and researchers, the ARTAS system eliminates the guesswork and technician fatigue associated with manual, handheld transplantation methods, along with the scarring, complications, and recovery time of more traditional surgical techniques.
This FDA-cleared, physician-assisted technology allows the harvesting and transplant sites to be precisely mapped to create a natural and healthy look. Individual hair follicles for transplantation are removed and implanted with the robot, reducing pain and recovery time. Shaving of the harvest site is necessary, but unlike traditional methods that surgically remove a strip of hair, the ARTAS robotic hair restoration procedure is minimally invasive and does not leave a linear scar. Hair grows back normally in the harvested area, just as the transplanted hair grows into a new and natural hairline.
Is It Safe?
Yes. Removing and transplanting individual hair follicles (Follicular-Unit Extraction) has been done for several years. The ARTAS robotic procedure is a more precise and less time-consuming way to complete the procedure. We are proud to be one of only a handful of providers in central Florida with the ARTAS capability. However, because the equipment cannot be moved easily, the robotic procedure is performed only in our Altamonte Springs office.
